I am looking for something to scan my computer and actually get rid of what ever is making it run so slow, i am just guessing that is what is wrong with it and making it go so slow. i tried some norton thing, but it could only fix 1 of my problems there are still 8 left. so if you know of any site witha free download that could do this for me i wuld greatly appreciate it if you could let me know!

Try running that "Norton thing" again, this time in Safe Mode. Many viruses don't get started up in Safe Mode and so can't protect themselves.
Also turn off System Restore to evict anything that might be living there.
To get into Safe Mode:
1.Log out and reboot your machine.
2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3.Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. Log in as Administrator. Administrator often has no password.
5.When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
