I have Norton Anti Virus installed and it shows no viruses, my homepage has changed, new toolbar has shown up. I do not download porn, but do chat online sometimes. This is my guess why I have a virus. Do I need to get a new AntiVirus or can I get something to download with my current Antivirus. I am very tired of spending all my money on antivirus that doesn't even work. Please help me to understand why this is happening and what I should do to prevent further problems!! Thank you for any advice you can give me.

I agree with others - not likely a virus, but spyware. And you don't need to go to porn sites to get spyware! Be cautious about what you download. For example, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) also downloads WeatherBug unless you do a ''custom'' install. Go to cnet.com and download something like SpyBot for free. It will identify and get rid of spyware.

go get AVG antivirus. norton sucks. and if you spent money on getting your computer fixed... then u just got riped off and should get ur moeny back
Depends on more of the web based programs you run. Like online games. More you run greater chance of getting a virus.
well it would depend how old your anti virus software is. and you need a firewall.. to protect your computer from unknown threats like hackers or viruses.. you could download some free untivirus softwares!

Try downloading a free spyware program.
Google it - there are tons.
You should b able to pick it up that way, and remove it
You could also try downloading AVG, its picked up quite a few things for me. And its free.
